:clap Interesting After visiting the official website, www.shipofheroes.com, I hope they don't get in trouble with copyright infringement. They seem to using a lot of City of Heroes terminology. Looks like it could open them up to lawsuits from NCSoft. The look of the game seems to mirror City of Heroes very closely. If I'm reading their time table correctly it looks like the game will launch, in some aspect, by April/May 2017.

Looks like it could open them up to lawsuits from NCSoft. That's one thing I noticed when I reviewed their earnings, was that NCSux had a small but nice amount coming from "Royalty" type areas. They did some settling with TERA, which the makers stole code and ideas (so the story goes). It's the biggest concern I have with CoT, that they need to protect themselves from potential lawsuits. I know when I met States and asked him about the Marvel lawsuit, his eyes sort of went blank and he was like "lawyers, so much money. so much money."

So these games could start up, then get squashed by lawsuits and get shutdown. More heartache for us in he process. I'm sure these companies don't have the capital to fight it out in court. Hmmmm... what a pitty.

The games get released, but NCSoft gets a piece of the action for allowing them to run the game.

My worry is with 3 different hero games, none of them are going to be able to turn enough of a monthly/yearly profit to stay up for long enough

Yeah, that is a good point. Most people will probably flock to the first one released. Hardhards will stay with that one when the next is released, but the population will decline from those jumping to the next shinny.
But people tend to go back to the one they liked the most, if that one can withstand the test of time.

And not so great start to Ship of Heroes. Reading comments there are (1) People that are sticking with this, cause of the look of CoH, (2) People devoted to City of Titans because they invested in that Kickstarter, (3) People that say Ship of Heroes is a scam to get people's money and never fully launch, (4) People like me just waiting for a new Hero MMO (5) and those that have given up hope and moved on. www.pcgamesn.com/ship-of-heroes/ship-of-heroes-kickstarter-cancelled

Wow I didn't even know the Kickstarter launched. I would have kicked in some money had I known. Oh well

So the demo just dropped for this on STEAM, not sure if its available anywhere else. It is just terrible, slow ugly attacks, invisible walls in the missions, bad overall look. You do start with three travel powers, super speed, fly and teleport, but no super jump, not sure if you even can get super jump. This is gonna be a pass for me
