Other than running away, I found the following tatic works fairly well against those bugs that speed forward and knock you down. Although, you might of figured this out already -
(1) The knockdown effect can be avoided by attacking next to a tree, as the tree prevents the effect (2) And basically, any obsticle can work, like rocks and stalagtites in caves.
Figured I would share.

Here is a walkthrough of Black Sun, Red Sand Tier 4-5. To me, the important part of this video is the boss fight in the Ancient Tomb (which starts at 3:30 - 9:55, with a couple of deaths along way) . I died many times with Spectrai(even changed my Actives/Passives to see which work better), in a few deaths, all I did was just run around and get to know the lay of the land. The only important thing I got from my findings was, running back to the door resets the fight. So, I would run around and find out where the fire cracks were and then run back to the door. Then when I got an idea of which clear paths to use, I went in for the fight. My successful tatic was back and forth between the two alters that have a clear path, with an occassional jump down to the first alter to heal.
This video exposes a great ranged attack tatic, by fighting by the 2nd alter. From about 8:10-8:35 into the video, you can see the guy fighting the boss on the left hand side of the alter. When he jumps down, the boss has to go aroud he pillar to get down (which the boss does not do on the right hand side), giving you time to range attack or heal. You jump back up, and the boss has to go back around the pillar. This gives you precious time to prepare.
For SpikeDragon, I stood on the right side brazer and attacked/healed, with a jump up and running between alters like with Spectrai. Never figured the left side brazer was the better option, until I just saw this video.
Would love to know what difoj did, being melee. There is another walkthrough video, but there person did not show the boss fight, only her engaging the boss in melee, and then a second later the boss falling to the ground. One person commented, why not show the entire fight, with a reply, it was like any other fight and didn't think it was worth posting. Either that person was lying about the fight(and died a few thimes), or maxed equiped. I'm interested in how I'll do when I get my Chaos/Blade toon HighBrick to this fight, but still have to fight Beaumont in the Blue Mts. Having fought twice with ranged toons, my melee fights have been more challenging.
Also, SpikeDragon had a slight advangtage - cause I already did this fight with Spectrai, and had the best talismans for her levels with glyphs buffs a few levels higher (provided by Spectrai). So maxed equiped, and already had a plan of attack, but still died twice (cause my jumping was off).

I was just running around the alter since the floor cracks didn't seem to cross there causing me extra damage and waited for him to do his AoE attack thing, after he did it I would run in and do as much damage as possible and then repeat running round the alter in a circle. I think I had the chainsaw during this too and that has good damage paired with my spinning hammer diamond things and the one hammer attack that causes knockdown and 3 seconds of impairment. I also have my 347 attack rating claws and hammer which I think is pretty high for that zone area from the item store

On the rocket launcher mission, for the last tier you can bypass a lot of fighting by jumping up on the boxes and then cut across to where the "boss guardian" is, but then you can just click on the case from above him and leave without having to fight him at all

lol that's funny. But for some reason, I feel I'll have problems clicking items, like I did in the SWTOR mission stealing items.
